How to look after your African Wax Print Garment
So now you have purchased your garment there’s nothing worst than caring for it incorrectly and getting only one wear out of it.
To ensure the endurance of your African Print Fabric Garment follow these simple care instructions:
1. Using a Washing Machine
We recommend washing at 30 degrees or cold wash setting or of you machine has it a hand wash cycle. IMPORTANT Skip the spin cycle Always wash with similar colors, but be sure to test the colourfastness of the fabrics Ans never with Whites Best to turn the garment inside out when washing using a machine Line dry (never in a dryer) and out of direct sunlight as this will damage the garment Iron using a cotton* setting
2. Old Skool Handwash Method
My mum swears by this approach and I also follow it for all my African Fabric tops.
- Wash in cold or lukewarm water
- Use a bar of soda of non biological detergent
- Line Dry
- Never Wring or twist to dry this will compromise the rich colours of the fabric and cause them to fade quickly
*Unless stated all our fabrics are 100% cotton
